White-bellied Pangolin (Manis tricuspis), Tiwai Island, Sierra Leone

Seeing two of these amazing, delightfully strange animals was the highlight of my trip to Sierra Leone. The eight species of pangolins are in their own order, which is sister to the carnivores. None is easy to find, and this taxa was among my most-wanted in the world.
